Welcome to Coins By Design!

Coin

Welcome to my website for specialty coins made from some of the most unusual metals on earth. I make large sized coins of out of exotic metals such as molybdenum, vanadium, tantalum, nickel and many others. All of the coins are 995 or greater in purity. Most of these coins have never been minted in a one ounce size. To my great satisfaction, many companies as well as collectors see these very rare coins as a great promotional tool or a wonderful addition to their collections.

I work with professional artists to come up with the designs. Frank Riccio is one of the primary artists that I collaborate with. After the initial design is complete and laid out, it goes to a retired sculptor from the U.S. Mint. He hand carves the plaster mold which is transfered to a die and expertly struck at a well respected private mint.
